Each year HOP and WildCare rescue injured or orphaned wildlife from careless tree work. Breeding season started in January with Great Horned Owls, Barn Owls and Humming Birds as some of the first to nest. Songbirds, hawks, other species of owls as well as some mammals are starting to nest now. Spring is always a popular time for tree work, but is most detrimental to wild creatures who use trees to nest. Please consider tree work in October/Nov. If emergency tree work has to happen please take time to thoroughly inspect the tree for wildlife and call appropriate wild life organizations for help. Patience can save lives. Plan your big annual yard clean ups and tree work ahead of time for Oct/Nov and in spring enjoy the beautiful wild life that depend on trees to survive.
